
Chronology of activities
August 2022
Through a class called CEP in the Department of Global Tourism, students from 2022 came up with the idea of a business using local specialties, "Spiny lobster Ramen," in the Mio area of Mihama Town, Wakayama Prefecture, with the theme of "renovating a vacant house."
April 2023
In preparation for the launch of the "Spiny lobster Ramen" project, the 2023 CEP members held remote meetings with the Mio town hall and local residents, worked on everything from creating the concept to developing the product.
August 2023
Finally, "Mio Ramen", packed with the charm of Mio, is complete! 150 bowls sold out in the 3-day limited opening!
October 2023
Mio Ramen served at the Wakayama Prefecture Association World Championships
August 2024
Mio Ramen's launch event at North Island University in Canada. All ingredients are locally sourced, cooked from scratch, and served to locals.
November 2024
The vacant house was converted into a store.
December 2024
We set up a stall at the event celebrating the 70th anniversary of Mihama Town's establishment. We sold out 300 cups in 3 hours! We received the "PAX AWARD" from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies for our activities that embody the idea of world peace through language.
April 2025
Finally, our store opened. Currently open on thee weekends, also opens a food stall once a month in Wakayama City.
